Bizkaia, a territory with a surface area of 2.221 Km2, is located in the Basque Country, in the north of the Iberian Peninsula. An ancient seigniory with a strong linguistic, legislative and cultural identity, the six regions covered in this publication conserve a tremendous natural wealth, impregnated and enriched by the footprint that human presence has stamped on it throughout centuries, creating an important historical and cultural heritage which is perfectly integrated into the landscape.

These regions hold natural spaces, many of which are protected, with spectacular mountains, hidden green valleys and steep coastal areas.
